Cover Design Services

All book submissions require professionally designed cookbook cover artwork to meet the book printing specifications. We offer cookbook cover design services that are competitively priced and designed by professional book designers. 

Choose from any of the options below to complete your cover artwork for submission with your book printing order. 

Level 1 Design                                                       
By selecting one of the cover templates in the Cooks Palate Publisher you can get an affordable, professionally designed semi-custom cover for your book. Each design is designated for use with one title and includes a small credit line for the book designer.  Allowable changes to the template include:

• Up to two rounds of simple textual/placement modifications
• Placement of information including title/subtitle, spine info, author name and back cover copy
• Color change
• Font change
• Spine width adjusted to selected book size
• Optional Bookland-EAN bar code placement on cover back for commercial book distribution
• Downloadable cover file for inclusion with your manuscript submission

Level 2 Design
Includes customized design with all of the features of Level 1 Design plus a customized layout for optimum attraction.  Customization includes:

• All of the features of Level 1 Design above
• Up to two design concepts to choose from
• Customer provided photo/illustration or
• Choose from stock photo/illustration (additional fee may apply)
• Up to two rounds of modifications

Distribution Services

Free Distribution Listing
Any book published through Author, Inc. can be listed for sale in our online store: The listing is free. Author royalties are paid on books sold through the site.

Other Industry Book Distribution Listings
If you plan to have your book distributed for sale in retail book stores you will need to purchase distribution services that will list your book title with libraries and the largest wholesalers, retailers and distributors in the book industry.  These services are included in our distribution package but vary widely depending on your book size, binding, page count etc.. We recommend you consult with us before designing your book to optimize your choices.

• A unique ISBN number for your title
• A scannable Bookland-EAN barcode for your cover
• Library of Congress Publication number
• Title listing in Bowker's Books in Print database
• Listing options for approved books may include:
  Titles@Ingram and Nielsen BookData (searchable databases for librarians, booksellers, publishers, researchers, students, faculty, library patrons and bookstore customers)
• You must purchase one review copy to approve your book for broader distribution. If the book is your first book order and you are using The Cooks Palate Publisher, the book is free; otherwise a fee for a single book will be incurred.
• Author royalties are paid on books sold through distribution
